Absolutely not! Anyone who says you shouldn’t eat protein with carbs or that certain combinations of food – i.e., mixing sugar and fat – cause weight gain doesn’t know squat about physiology. Our bodies are exquisitely designed to handle a variety of food mixtures, so any theory about combining certain foods for weight loss flies in the face of everything known about digestion and metabolism. Besides, it’s impossible to separate food ingredients, since Mother Nature packages almost all foods (except sugar, oils, and most fruits) as a combination of carbs, protein, and fat. It is stupid fad ideas like this that get in the way of people make sound food choices that aid in permanent weight loss and better health.
