Bumblebee The minuscule amounts of a few minerals in honey don’t make a dent in your daily needs. (It takes 11 cups of honey to supply a woman’s daily need for iron and 19 cups to supply the calcium in one cup of nonfat milk.) Honey is nutritionally similar to white sugar (sucrose) and is no substitute for nutritious naturally-occurring sugars in fresh fruits, which come packaged with vitamins, minerals, fiber, water, and other essential nutrients. If you like the taste of honey, then by all means use it. But consider it part of your total day’s intake of added sugars.   Photo credit: voyageAnatolia.blogspot.com via Compfight
